Join us on a walk on Dartmoor on 26th April starting nr Haytor Rocks.
We will do a circular route lasting between 2-3 hours and returning for a cream tea, if people desire. This is good open terrain, but if the weather has been wet beforehand, there may be some boggy areas, so decent footwear advisable.
Dogs will need to be kept on leads please if there are sheep or ponies grazing
(Please bear in mind that because of the distance, this walk may not be suitable for puppies.)
DIRECTIONS. From M5 north, continue along the A38 towards Plymouth and take route to Bovey Tracey , A382. Keep on the A382 until you get into the outskirts of Bovey Tracey and at the 2nd roundabout turn left onto the B3387 to Widecombe/Haytor/Manaton. A few hundred yards along the road forks – keep left. Continue uphill for about 2 miles, over the cattle grid and then after another mile you will see on the left side the main car park, with tourist information centre and toilets. IGNORE this car park and go on ¼ mile further and turn into another car park on the left hand side. For Sat Nav users the map reference is SX758767.
