Adopt an Airedale

Are you looking to adopt an Airedale?

Could you give a kind and loving home to an Airedale?

From time to time some owners, through change of circumstances find themselves unable to look after their beloved Airedale.

The club runs a Kennel Club approved scheme to find these Airedales a new home.

If you believe that you are the right person(s) to adopt an Airedale please contact me.

Once in contact I will try to build a picture of you, your past experience of Airedales or you might already have one and are looking for another to join your family.

If you have not had an Airedale before, your attraction may be because as a child you pushed a toy Airedale dog on 4 wheels or you might think that Airedales look like a cuddly Teddy Bear. If this is the limit of your knowledge of our breed then you must do some homework if you are serious about owning one of our dogs.

Besides reading about the breed it would benefit you to visit an Airedale in its own home or go to a dog show where Airedales are present and speak to their owners.

Airedales to us are a wonderful breed, we couldn’t imagine life without them, but they are not for the faint hearted. Airedales are full of adventure, alert at all times. Sometimes when called they develop ‘selective hearing’ as they are probably investigating something of greater interest to them as opposed to responding to your call.

One of the main requirements of you is that your home has an ‘APG’. Airedale owners know this stands for an Airedale Proof Garden. It must be fully enclosed with lockable side gates. An unsecured garden or side gate is a golden opportunity for a fearless adventurer such as an Airedale to go exploring.

If you believe that you are the right person to adopt an Airedale and can meet our requirements please contact me.
